Traffik Island – “You Do, Don’t You?”
by Andy
Got a new single today from Traffik Island, and its another argument for Olsen’s upcoming LP out soon on Flightless. Still swirling ‘round the psych-folk forest, “You Do, Don’t You?” comes riding in on chiming guitars. Olsen’s vocals are filtered through a dense fog, swirling in perfumed plumes, a baroque bent to the voluminous cut. There’s an English mystic madness at work here, plucking a few moves right out of the Original Artyfacts of the Nuggets generation. While I loved the peanut-butter beats of his last outing, this is the wheelhouse where it seem Traffik Island is most comfortable. The new record, A Shrug of the Shoulders, is out November 19th.
