Symphony Orchestra – “Intersection”
by Andy
Two RSTB favorites pairing up is pretty much always a good thing. Max Turnbull (Badge Époque Ensemble) and Michael Rault announce this week that they have formed the duo Symphony Orchestra. It’s a misleading moniker given that the first cut, “Intersection” splits the difference between Rault’s power pop and ‘70s rock ripples and Turnbull’s funk fantasies. With a disco bounce, piano breakdowns, and rubbery pop soul, the song’s a propulsive package that makes it hard to sit still. The band’s debut LP, Radiant Music, is due May 12th from Turnbull’s longtime outpost at Telephone Explosion. Gonna want to keep an ear piped for more from these two.
