SUSS – “Restless”

Another calm corner is carved out on the upcoming SUSS record. “Restless,” despite its title, feels pretty content. The band’s ambient country stretches out towards the yawning horizon, patient and padding across the landscape with a studied serenity. Jonathan Gregg’s steel gives the song its glow, but Pat Irwin’s guitar adds to the bucolic nature with a restrained ripple of strings. The new record promises to soundtrack the stillness of night and its inhabitants. The new album, Birds & Beasts, is out June 28th from Northern Spy.
