The third single from the upcoming debut from Shirley Hurt is measured dry and dark, curled in an arid smoke. The track slowly crawls from the wings, floating on Hurt’s affecting baritone vocals, soft strums and the twilight plunk of piano. Hurt has a troubadour’s countenance, laying out a furrowed tale that recalls works by Bat For Lashes or Weyes Blood. Her eponymous album is out December 2nd from Telephone Explosion.
