New single out of Madison duo Red Pants today finds the band working through a hushed brand of indie, knocking on the doors of Blonde Redhead, Yo La Tengo, and Sonic Youth. The noisefloor buzz behind the band’s guitars howls with the threat of a storm that never quite breaks, but the tension serves as a fun bit of froth that drives “On A Wire” into the brain, digging in hooks for the long haul. The new single finds drummer Elsa Nekola joining the vocal fray, volleying velvet vox with Jason Lambeth. The new album, Not Quite There Yet, arrives October 27th from Meritorio Records.
