O.R.B. – “Can’t Do That”

Aussie Heavies O.R.B. return with a new six-minute crusher that goes for the sternum, laying waste to their surroundings with a nice dose of amplifier fry and a pounding rhythm. Sludgy, yet proggy, the band has always had one foot in the psych saddle and another near the more exploratory ends of metal. This time, though, the band doesn’t just settle with slinging riff. The mid-section breaks down with a polyrhythm pummel and guitars that stretch out with wandering tentacles of sound. There’s a looseness to the cut that feels good on ’em. “Can’t Do That” crops up on the band’s forthcoming Tailem Bend, out July 12th from Flightless and Fuzz Club.
