Freeman DeJongh – “Dreadful Feelings”

Avatar

Another gem from the Curation Records stable tumbles out of the speakers this morning. Idaho songwriter Jake “Freeman” Dejongh taps into a shade-grown version the of ‘70s vision — conjuring up Cale n’ Clark with the best of ‘em. The song sidles slow with a narcotic lilt, wandering through the morning haze with a heart full of regrets. Backed by mournful guitars, AM-worthy horn stabs and a liberal lacquer of pedal steel, the song’s a great introduction into his upcoming album Dreadful Feelings. Bummer blues never sounded so good. The new record is out June 23rd from Curation.
