Florry – “Cowgirl Giving”
The upcoming Florry LP continues to offer crumpled country charms, a rough-hewn outing that captures drunk and dry dioramas of elation and exhaustion. The first couple of singles strayed towards carefree forms, but with “Cowgirl Giving,” the band brings down the lights and lets things get a bit blue and woozy for a moment. The song sways along its downtrodden saunter, wobbling on heart-worn hues of fiddle and harmonica, with that pedal steel cooling things off in the background. The interplay between vocalists Francie Medosch and Victoria Rose weaves a devastatingly jagged pattern that’s bruised but not beaten. Check out the new video for “Cowgirl Giving,” a 90s computer throwback created by Approved Work. The new album, The Holey Bible, is out August 4th from Dear Life Records.
