Drugdealer – “Someone To Love”

Avatar

Whew another new one from this upcoming Drugdealer LP only cements the anticipation. With a bit of funk in the bass and more emphasis on Michael Collins’ sudden swerve towards ‘70s Van Morrison vocals, “Someone To Love,” is a smoked glass groove that holds the listener tight. There’s a midnight grace to the song, reflected nicely in the video’s aimless city wander. It’s the kind of song that feels lodged in your head from the first moment you hear it. As if it may have been a haunt from childhood, overheard in drug stores, liquor stores, backseats, and breakfast spots. Collins has always been inching closer to classic record status and with the first two entries into his upcoming Hiding In Plain Sight, he just may have it locked down. The record is out October 28th from Mexican Summer.
