Cate Le Bon – “Remembering Me”
by Andy
This new Cate Le Bon LP has been bubbling up under the past couple of months sounding like yet another killer from the Welsh songwriter. Hung on synths that slide on the ice of Le Bon’s vocals and bursts of melted wax guitar, the latest single bulges and breathes, a pop monstrosity that’s resplendent in its queasiness. Paired with a stark video by Juliana & Nicola Giraffe, the clip contrasts bold costuming with the song’s themes of legacy and self-involvement. As she works towards the February 4th release date of Pompeii, Le Bon is leaving a trail of art-pop curios that make the album all the more enticing. The record arrives next month on Mexican Summer.
