Time Thief – “Bus Stop”

A nice slice of indie pop out of Providence today. Time Thief features members of Jeanines’ live outfit (Zoë has played bass with them off and on), and fans of the band should certainly take notice. “Bus Stop” chooses strident strums over jangles, swerving away from twee signifiers, while adding a bit of post-punk propulsion in the bass. The band keeps things striped back and breezy, with just a bit of bite under those sunburned strums. Zoë Wyner vocals balance out the bluster with a wistful sigh stitched through her soaring melodies. The band’s got a limited lathe cut and cassette on the way with a bonus limited zine. The band’s eponymous EP is out September 12th from Musical Fanzine.
