Peel Dream Magazine – “Venus In Nadir”

Just a year after the release of their intoxicating album, Rose Main Reading Room, Peel Dream Magazine cue up a new record, a mini-album culled from the sessions that birthed RMRR. The first single out of Taurus, is the sprightly strummer “Venus In Nadir,” a cut that leans into the indie pop direction of the band, but still leaves a few smudges of their dreampop past. Sun dappled and sweetly stung, the new single pairs hushed vocals with the skip-hop of keys. It finds the band at their most hummable, feeling like Kings of Convenience dipped into the E6 inkwell. The new record, Taurus, is out October 1st from Topshelf Records.
