Oneida – “I Wanna Hold Your Electric Hand”

Over the years Oneida has evolved from a noise-sculpted beast into consummate experimentalists playing with the nature of their sound until it twisted more than tackled the listener. There were plenty of eras to get on board, but if you hopped on the bus between Each One Teach One and Secret Wars, then the chest rattler that blows the cones on “I Wanna Hold Your Electric Hand” might sound familiar. Pinned to an insistent riff and doused in a deluge of fuzz, the new single takes the band back to a time when they were bashing out basement shows and melding with the sweat night after night. The new album, Success, is out August 19th from Joyful Noise.
