Luke Schneider – “For Dancing in Quiet Light”

RSTB favorite Luke Schneider is back this summer with a new EP, this time for luminous West Coast institution LEAVING Records. Schneider’s ambient country calm is on full display in the title track, “For Dancing In Quiet Light.” The song comes in waves, pulsating through the speakers like an internal vibration. The pedal steel player’s been a fixture at Third Man and Centripetal Force, but his pairing with the high council of ambient at LEAVING seems like a perfect fit. Still rooted in natural elements, Schneider also cites Lou Reed’s recently celebrated, but often overlooked Tai Chi companion, Hudson River Wind Meditations as a source of inspiration for the record. Both would make a good addition to the you meditation connection this Summer, and you won’t have to wait long. For Dancing in Quiet Light is out August 22nd.
