Galore – “Bastard”

A second jangler out of the new Galore album. The SF quartet continues to charm with their new album, Dirt. “Bastard” lets in a little more bite than the sweet vernal strums from their first single, “Field Trip,” swinging back towards the rawer punk and post-punk touches of their debut. “Bastard” boasts a bit more snarl and it’s nice to hear the band draw blood. Galore still lacquer some softness over the top, but the choruses bristle like Richard Hell rendered in stained glass. The group pairs the punk scowl with a cathartic video full of the members smashing everything and anything they can find. Another winner from the upcoming Dirt, out July 25th from Speakeasy Studios SF.
