Creative Writing – “Can’t Thank You Enough”

Already on the 2025 radar with their excellent debut EP, New England’s Creative Writing follow their January gem with the announcement of their first album for RSTB favorites Meritorio. The band brings the jangles this time around, laying first single “Can’t Thank You Enough” into a comfortable valley between the Byrdsian beginnings of jangle’s joyride and the nineties acolytes to follow. With a soft focus warmth draped over the song, the band nods to Teenage Fanclub if they were dipped in just a touch of the twang of Wowee Zowee-era Pavement. It’s an excellent continuation of the aura of that surrounded True 90s, scrubbing up the fidelity just a touch but keeping the band’s most earnest impulses intact. The new album, Baby Did This, is out October 3d from Meritorio.
