Agnes Martian – “Cycle Heart Echo”

The last time Agnes Martian were around these parts they had Laraaji, Music for Connection, and Hair and Space Museum in tow. After that detour into deep tissue collaboration, the duo returns to follow up their 2022 album, The Future Light Cone, with a hypnotic new record that throws the listener into the deep end of the cosmos. Welding ‘70s Teutonic Prog and its repository of repetition to the dipped aesthetics of cosmic jazz, the first single percolates as much and it pulsates. A beacon in the night sky, the track builds to a rippling peak before it boils over into the album’s title track, a defining moment of the band’s upcoming new album, Elsewhere. The new record lands on Terra Firma November 14th from Centripetal Force.
