Hannah Lew – “Another Twilight”
by Andy
Following the likes of Roxanne Clifford’s turn towards synthpop as Patience and fellow Widow Raven Mahon’s work as The Green Child, Hannah Lew balances the line between pop’s embrace and the cold edges of her post-punk past. A new record under her own name scrubs away even the last vestiges of the ice that clung to Cold Beat. First single “Another Twilght” is a smeared, hazy bout of sythpop. The song glows with a renewed warmth, a humming humidity that’s works well with Lew’s velveteen delivery. Propulsive, but shaded subtly, the new cut feels right at home with the Night School roster. Lew’s eponymous new album lands April 10th.
