Creative Writing – “Memory Light”

The debut LP from Creative Writing has been high on the ‘anticipated’ list since their first single hit a month or so back. The band grabbed momentum off an excellent EP earlier in the year and has kept things interesting with three singles off their Meritorio debut. Slipping between the punk snap of Aussie forefathers and college radio jangle staples, the band’s latest falls in the latter camp. “Memory Light” weaves guitar lines around the listener, a braided lanyard of licks that’s buoyed by haloed harmonies that nod to The Feelies. The band’s debut album, Baby Did This, is out October 3rd from Meritorio.
