The Nude Party – “Sweetheart of the Radio”

Despite their proximally to RSTB’s zip code, I think this might be the first time that The Nude Party has hit the site. The band’s been a longtime fave among the neu country crowd, and their latest single seizes on the reasons why. Steeped in a classic saunter, the song extols the virtues of letting the Byrds soundtrack the scene, an openly reverent single that brings its own down-home charms. The single also finds the NY band in fine company, sharing vocal duties with Haylie Davis (fka Lady Apple Tree) and featuring background vocals from perennial site fave Pearl Charles. The song crops up on Charles’ Taurus Rising Records, produced and engineered at the label’s West Coast studio by Michael Rault. It’s a bittersweet serenade for the end of summer that’s bound to find its way to repeat on your speakers. The single’s out now and the band’s upcoming Look Who’s Back is out on Taurus Rising, February 13th.
