The Myrrors – “Snake Dancers In the Assembly of Death”

A third single fills out the picture on the upcoming new album from The Myrrors. The band emerges from a hiatus to tease one of their most impressive albums yet. Following the seething “Land Back,” built on an anti-colonialist refrain, “Snake Dancers In The Assembly of Death” returns to the instrumental fray. Propelled by burbling polyrhythms, the song provides a hypnotic counterpoint to the fire of the album’s first half. The raga returns to heal the burn, providing a little moment of meditation among the clash of 2025. The song is singed by Grant Beyschau’s sax, weaving just a touch of dissonance in among the kaleidoscopic curl of the cut’s rhythmic repetition. The new album, Land Back, is out August 9th, 2025 (International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples), a co-release by Radio Khiyaban (EU), A.U.M. (North America), and Cardinal Fuzz Records (UK).
