Ry Jennings – “She Loves You, But”

Donning his solo hat as Whisperin’ Ry, RSTB fave Ry Jennings (Teddy and the Rough Riders) dips into a different wind on his first album away from the band. Still rooted in the country ramble, the first single doesn’t adopt the rollick and bluster of the Rough Riders, instead opting for something a bit breezier, with a nod to Nilsson’s harmonies and a penchant for the quiet corners of the ‘70s. “She Loves You, But” has a delicate center, something tender that mops up the tears of the torn edges of love. The new single sits atop the order of Ry’s new album, Whisperin’ Ry, out September 5th from Nudie Records.
