Motorists – “The Damage”

Still playing a little catchup from last week, Friday saw the third single from RSTB faves Motorists off their upcoming new album, Never Sing Alone. “The Damage” picks up some of the bound and bounce from their last record, an album that found them embracing the pop at the center of their sound. “The Damage” never quite gets as caffeinated as the fare on Touched By The Stuff, but it chews delightfully on the ends of power pop all the same. Among a tangle of twang in the guitars, the band lays down a melancholy melter with a hook that tugs at the back of the brain. The band’s new album is stacking up to be another year-ender, so if you haven’t been keeping tabs, jump in and get on board. The new album is out March 6th from We Are Time.
