Still playing a bit of catch-up, but I’d be remiss to leave out a new single from longtime site staples John Andrews & The Yawns. Andrews reaffirms his status as one of the finest purveyors of coiffed calm. “Something To Be Said” sways in the breeze, a sweet sigh of a song that’s bolstered on breezes and swaddled in strums. It’s an abrasive year, but it’s good to feel a little leeway, just for a moment. The new album finds The Yawns wandering from the fold from his home at Woodsist, cueing the new album, Streetsweeper up April 3rd on Earth Libraries.
