Itchy and the Nits – “Secrets”

It’s fuckin’ dark out there folks, and I’m still turning to music as a temporary refuge, if even for a few minutes. Aussie band Itchy and the Nits offer up just such a bright spot today, an infectious new single and an accompanying video packed full of handmade puppets. The wheels are falling off of the world, but for at least 1:35 strums and sonorous choruses keep things bearable. The band latches onto a bubblegum punk that’s one part Archies and one part Dirtbombs in their later embrace of ‘60s sunshine. Throw in the ‘70s kids show vibes and this is a damn good introduction to the band’s upcoming new LP. Their new record Greetings From… is out February 6th from Anti-Fade and Total Punk.
