Hooveriii – “Melody”

Missed this single as we slid out of last week, but this new shot from Hooveriii is a great way to wake up the synapses on a Tuesday morning. Insistent as ever, the new track finds the band grinding on a groove that’s oil slicked and slashed with synths. Pounding at the speakers with a tempo that puts some panic in your pulse, “Melody” lets low-slung guitar chug push the song until sax and synth wrap around one another like an ‘80s mph head-on hit. The band’s latest was built with speed in mind of all the tracks on the upcoming Manhunter, “Melody” might capture the whirlwind the best, opening the album with a storm. Sizzling with an amphetamine crunch, the song leaves the listener singed at the seams. The new record, Manhunter, is out May 16th from Reverberation Appreciation Society.
