Fuckwolf – “Plan Ahead”

SF’s unforgettably named Fuckwolf return with a sophomore LP, dialing down the damage, but never letting go of their indomitable spirit. The debut was a black hole ripper rounded up on Silver Current, a record years in the making, barely holding their live chaos down long enough to stick to the tape. The follow-up shakes off the hackles and hangover of the first album while drawing out the bone-dry boogie from under the bile. First single, “Plan Ahead” has an amphetamine shake to it; funk strung but strident in its ability to drag pop through the glass and grit and come out shining. Doused and pungent with the fumes of Blues Explosion by way of Butthole Surfers, the single keeps a blade in the back of its leathered exterior.
