Eddy Current Suppression Ring – “Hard To Be Moved”

There’s been some uptick in motion from Aussie legends Eddy Current Suppression Ring this year. The band had an excellent, untethered single out in March that was followed by a surprise EP on Cool Death this summer. Now, the band hooks up with Australian filmmaker Amiel Courtin-Wilson (Ruin, Hail) for a new video and single, “Hard To Be Moved.” Rendered in gritty black and white, the band bangs out another batch of punk pummel in the way that only the Suppression Ring can. Tangled and torn, jagged and spring-wound, the new single steadily builds until a mid-section shot of sonic shrapnel threatens to tear it apart. Still the best, still unmatched. Like the February single, there’s no mention of where this one ends up other than living in digital space, but here’s hoping that both get rounded up for an album sometime soon.
