Disket – “Running B/W Vamos A Ganar”

Last week I put together a collection of Power Pop that included a demo from NYC’s Disket. That cut found the band loose and winking, but on their first official 7” the band ramps up the pace and turn their hearts towards the punk end of their sound. The A-side careens around the room, tears up the carpet, and crashes through the coffee table with a gleeful smirk. Hung on the whip-crack vocals of Dani Tute, the song has a fun sneer to it that’s continued on through the b-side “Vamos A Ganar,” Both cropped up on their early demos, but it’s nice to see the band Harden them into a diamond-tuff double shot of punk prowess. The group features members of Baby Shakes, Mala Vista, and Vaxine. Here’s hoping there’s far more to come from the band. Their debut single is out now from General Speech.
