Daniel Romano’s Outfit – “Auto Poeit”

A bounty of great singles this morning starts with a new one from Daniel Romano’s Outfit. The ever-prolific Romano has been filling in the post-Too Hot To Sleep years with indispensable singles and a live album, but it’s nice to see a full record on the docket. None of the interim singles pop up on the new record, but from the first strains of lead-off single “Auto Poiet,” it’s clear that the band is burning just as clean. Infused with Romano’s knack for power pop-stung rock revival, the cut bounces around the room with sweat and swagger. Romano’s opened up the writing chair for this record, making Preservers of the Pearl a family affair with brother Ian Romano and Carson McHone heading up their own tracks. The new record lands March 13th from You’ve Changed Records.
