Chronophage – “Anti-Miracle”

RSTB faves Chronophage let loose an excellent new EP at the end of last week, a fitting follow-up to their 2022 album for PPM and a nice companion piece to songwriter Donna Allen’s solo LP for Ever/Never this year. The EP furthers the band’s slide towards a balance of pop, New Wave, and ‘80s indie. The earlier single, “Sword n’ Sandals” found the band in quiet contemplation, but there’s a strident strum to “Anti-Miracle,” the closing cut from the new EP, Musical Attack: Communist + Anarchist Friendship. If the band’s been eluding you over the past couple of years, there’s no time like now to start working your way back through the catalog. The single comes complete with a Summertime-soaked video full of backyard vibes.
