Blue Zero – “Confusion”

Another smeared and stained sonic shiv out of Oakland’s Shoegaze scene this week as past faves Blue Zero return with a new EP ahead of an upcoming EU/UK tour. The title track from the new EP, Confusion, peers out of the haze a bit more than their debut, thrusting mirrored shards of guitar into the squall and storm of amplifier mist with practiced precision. The song manages to be both bilious and barbed, a fogged torrent of thick atmospheres that hide rusted hooks within their miasma. It’s a more focused version of what the band was hinting at on last year’s Colder Shade Blue. The new EP is out later this week, October 29th, and if you’re around select cities in Europe or the UK over the next couple of months, the band is coming with fellow faves Mo Dotti.
