Alien Eyelid – “Nesadel Club”

It’s a good week for forlorn country songs. Following a heavy sigh from The Pink Stones yesterday, RSTB faves Alien Eyelid offer up the second single from their new album Vinegar Hill. Slowed to a heatsick Texan crawl, “Nesadel Club” finds the band in contemplative repose. Lamenting, lost in the haze and humidity, the song inverts the traditional country ballad. It’s not quite clutching the reigns of cosmic country, but it does have a certain psychedelic sway, something echoed in the dark undertones of the accompanying video. The song fades through the mind as nighttime anxieties mingle with the first flickers of dream, fading away on gentle strums and the sticky sway of Mlee Marie’s sax. The new album, Vinegar Hill, is out September 5th from Tall Texan Records.
