White Fence – “Your Eyes”
Haven’t heard from White Fence in a bit (has it really been since 2019?) but this morning finds Tim Presley back among the jangles and the soft sway of ‘60s sounds. The first single off of his Ty Segall-produced new album exits the Barrett/Ayers era of the past in favor of something a bit more downy, a bit more plush. The strums and sweetly stung harmonies are still there, but the wobble that often works its way into Tim’s songs recedes from view. “Your Eyes’ is shot through with thick shots of percussion and an aura that feels far bigger than he’s sounded since the days of Darker My Love. I’m sure the journey was long, but it’s a nice heel turn towards something that feels new for Presley, but also, unmistakably still White Fence. The new album, Orange, is out April 24th from Drag City.
