Benji Knight – “Blue Belief b/w Spider In The Sun”

Got a bit busy over the past week, but that’s no reason to let this one slip away. A second single from Benji Knight again assembles a West Coast dream in the studio. Featuring the bulk of Pacific Range, Farmer Dave Scher on keys, and Gerard Love (Lightships, Teenage Fanclub) on harmonies, this pair of tracks is just as entrancing as the last. A bit more lilting than the country ramble of “Arizona Snowstorm,” there’s a folk breeze that blows through the A-side “Blue Belief,” walking through the edges of light before the band heat seals the sendoff with a fried solo. The b-side lingers a bit longer, a desert fable with room to run. The assembled band fills the frame with harmonies and kaleidoscopic hues. The single serves as a companion piece to last month’s “Arizona Snowstorm b/w Something Is Down There” Both are out now from Curation Records.
