The Hanging Stars – “Sister of the Sun”

RSTB faves The Hanging Stars return this week with a luminous new single, “Sister of the Sun.” Ahead of a planned album for 2026, the band began work with Gerry Love (Teenage Fanclub/Lightships), who lends a hand on production to the new track. Still dipped in the psych folk and country that’s found its way into their records, the song nestles deeper into the cosmic cocoon than ever. They layer harmonies over waves of lush keys, twelve string strum, and an aura of thickly braided bliss. It’s an extension of the psych-pop wonders they’ve been working all along, but amplified at every turn. The new single and video are out now on Loose Music, with the promise of more to come before the new year.
