The new album from Alex E.T. continues to mine the best of the long tail of grunge, an heir apparent to Mazzy Star, Belly, and Opal in their ability to cook down the ‘70s swirl of post-psych influences into a writhing pool of ‘90s fuzz. “Little Wars” balances restraint with blistered tension, leveraging Ethan Miller’s production into singed strums and thick plumes of technicolor tones that turn the single into one of Tapié’s best yet. The new record, Color of Strange, is out September 20th from Curation Records.
