More tangled woes from the altar of Sir Richard Bishop this week. The Sun City Girls guitarist is prepping his latest solo LP, Hillbilly Ragas, embracing both sides of that sentiment. The new record offers up nine acoustic inroads to the darkest heart of both the Appalachian hills and points Eastward. “Pass The Juggernaut” tosses the listener deep into the brambles, showcasing Bishop’s entrancing stringwork. The song is a dark, engrossing deliverance that urges the listener further and further into the unknown. The song slips out as the centerpiece of the upcoming Hillbilly Ragas, out September 26th from Drag City.
