Cactus Lee – “Rabbit”

Another sweetly strung single wafts out from Cactus Lee’s upcoming, eponymous new album. The album opener eases the listener in, buffeted on summer breeze and a bucolic air that’s largely provided by Bukka Allen’s accordion. Dehan’s songs have a way of splicing country and pop with a carefree tone and there may be no better example than the sanguine sighs on “Rabbit.” It’s been a great couple of years for the new wave of outsider country and Cactus Lee has always been a binding force between the indie undercurrent and the circuit classicists: an everyman for everyone. The new album, Cactus Lee, is out March 28th from Western Vinyl.
