Rosa Beach Mason & Sean Conrad – “Lure”

In a meditative mood to start out the day, “Lure” is the first taste of Wake, the debut from Rosa Beach Mason (Ashan) and Sean Conrad (Channelers, Ashan). Like fellow fluid travelers Joys Union Band or Julianna Barwick, the duo rides the line between New Age, Kosmiche, and ambient with ease. “Lure” delves into the dampness with methodically plucked guitar, flutes that float like reflections from a lighted pool, and Mason’s wordless mantra skimming over the surface. The track, like much of their upcoming album, is awash in a disembodied calm — astral projections that massage the mind with unseen hands. The record is out May 13th from Inner Islands.
