A third single out of the excellent new Skyway Man LP lands this week. Again we find James Wallace employing assembled footage for an accompanying video to further his narrative of reaching out into the void for knowledge that’s beyond the borders of this planet, locked in the cosmos or somewhere deep inside the self. “Winds” has an epic sweep to it, a triumphant crescendo that Wallace himself describes as “Atreyu rides Falkor through the clouds while credits roll energy.” There’s a sigh sandwiched in-between the soaring chords as well, and that’s reflected in the video’s use of scenes from On The Silver Globe, a 1977 Sci-fi film, directed by Andrzej Żuławski, that was prematurely halted by the Polish film board. The lost traveler quality mirrors the song’s sense of drama and desire. The new album, Flight of the Long Distance Healer, is out November 3rd from Mama Bird Recording Co.
