The day’s packed with indie pop, an that sits just right with me. Humdrum let loose a debut single from their upcoming Slumberland LP a couple of weeks back and they return today with another sweet strummer, streaked with the summer’s remaining sun. Lodged between the IRS years of Athens’s favorite sons and Submarine Bells-era Chills, “There and Back Again” is a bittersweet single that feels like it’s been sitting in rotation your entire life. From the first snap of snare to the last lingering notes that hang on the air, the single grabs on and holds tight. The new record, Every Heaven, is out October 18th from Slumberland.
