Honey Radar – “Rink Damage”

Always happy to hear from Philly’s Honey Radar and today the band announces a new 12” EP that’s been percolating over the last year. While the band set out for a new LP to follow Ruby Puff of Dust, the hectic nature of the past year has other plans for us all and their works have been parceled out over some smaller releases both already out and in the pipeline, as songwriting Jason Henn mentions, “there’s a lost LP in there somewhere.” “Rink Damage” anchors the upcoming Play-Box Relay EP, foaming through the speakers with a lived-in jangle and Jason’s faded vocals humming over the top. The Super 8 strains of the video fit the yellowed photo feelings that permeate most of Honey Radar’s catalog — photocopies of the past that curl at the edges and but still tug at the soul. The new EP is out shortly in a first edition is 50 lathe cut copies. Check out the Patrick Fleming-directed clip above.
