Caroline No – “Anna’s On The Radio”


A third album is on the way from Caroline No, the constantly evolving ensemble around Caroline Kennedy (Deadstar, The Plums, The Tulips). This time Kennedy enlists Jim White (Dirty Three, Xylouris White) and Mick Turner (Dirty Three, Mess Esque) among other Aussie luminaries for a searing new record that melds scorched ‘90s alt vibes with soaring vocals. The first cut, “Anna’s On The Radio” builds to a crashing finish, starting out as a low-key spare strummer but building a guitar din that crashes down in a deluge of clang and clamor. The track explodes from the speakers in cathartic bursts, setting this up as one of Kennedy’s most vital albums. The eponymous new record is out April 1st from Grapefruit Records.
