Ryli – “Break”

Another killer single out of RSTB faves Ryli. The West Coast pop outfit slips away from some of the jangled offerings of their peers and and their own pasts for an atmospheric pop album thrumming with tension. “Break” is a perfect example, a disaffected single that seems set to boil over, but keeps its cool simmering below the surface. Bass and guitar tangle, sparring with Yea-Ming Chen’s pleas for release. Some relief hits when the guitar sears the second half, but the band’s ability to wind up the listener remains their greatest asset. The new album, Come And Get Me, is out June 27th from Dandy Boy Records.
