Prison – “In The Tall Grass / Made For You”

More good news from Prison this week, the ever-changing boogie beaters anchored by Sarim Al-Rawi, Matt Lilly and Paul Major and a cast of fellow heads. The band’s second release from the upcoming Downstate combines “In The Tall Grass,” and “Made For You” into one video directed by Rick Charnoski. The former is folk adjacent, a kind of clear-headed musing hung loosely on strums. Then the band enters the dented din that’s been their forte, a boogie-bred bristle that’s long on choogle and slashed with horns and heat behind a snarling Sam Jayne vocal delivery. Both songs appear on Downstate, out January 31st from Drag City.
