Pearl Charles – “Givin’ It Up”

RSTB fave Pearl Charles has been sliding out a few standalone singles of late and another one hits the speakers this week. Returning to a bit of the disco canyon country blur that existed between her last year’s Magic Mirror and its predecessor, “Givin’ It Up” finds Charles back under the mirror ball with Ronstadt meets Ripperton vibes. Co-penned with her partner Michael Rault, there’s a slinking, silken feel to the song. While the bass lines breathe the dry-ice of the dancefloor, there’s something in the off-shoulder bounce that feels like couple’s skate at the roller rink in there. The song is out now from Pearl’s Bandcamp and it looks like October’s excellent “Deja Vu” is up in official capacity as well. Nab ‘em both to warm up these winter nights.
