Another killer collab from Jayson Gerycz lands this year, following in the wake of Monocot’s essential LP and the news of the Gerycz/Powers/Rolin record on the way. This time he teams with Northeast string-slayer Anthony Pasquarosa (Weeping Bong Band, Gluebag) and the two warp psychedelic meditations around the pre-dawn creaking of the day. “Venus (Beauty)” seeps in from under the foundations of the house, moving with a permeable ease into the pores and panes, settling its languid leak into the parched pavement. The first taste is a patient ramble that sets up the pair’s understated dynamic. The album is part of a new batch of cassettes from Unifactor that includes Jayson’s collaborator Rosali (more on that later), and Jon Collin. The tape is out August 20th.
