Ducks Ltd. – “Train Full of Gasoline”

I’ll be the first to admit that I was slow to catch onto Ducks Ltd’s last record, but their warm-hearted jangles won me over in the long run and the trail of singles leading up to the new album has been damn promising. The band hook in an insistent strummer on their latest, the driving “Train Full of Gasoline.” The song, inspired by the Lac Megantic rail disaster in Quebec digs into destructive patterns, the kind that seem inevitable, despite being preventable. The song creeps through the consciousness, as seemingly unstoppable as its subject matter. It’s a song that refuses to be ignored and the more it runs the rails of the brain, the more it gets embedded. The cut crops up on the band’s latest album, Harm’s Way, which arrives February 9th from Carpark.
