Country Westerns – “It’s A Livin'”
Following the tease “Money On The Table,” Nashville’s Country Westerns announce their new album Forgive The City, produced by Matt Sweeney. The first official single from the album “It’s A Livin,” is a bit lighter than the kerosene-soaked “Money,” but still retains the band’s grit and grease that’s been applied liberally to the alt-country axles. The band eschews much of the twang of the new class of country crooners, working towards a smoke-throated, Saturday-night, dollar beer throw back to ‘90s No Depression heroes like Uncle Tupelo. Yet, the band is equally enamored with the ripped undercurrents of Dead Moon or Greg Sage’s solo work. They find an amiable balance between the denim denizens of rock and the college town country crop. From the first couple of sounds, their sophomore LP is shaping up to be one to watch for ’23. Thew new album arrives April 28th from Fat Possum.
